Education

A primary component of the Three Springs treatment philosophy of "Mind, Body, Spirit" is the improvement of a child's mind. The whole child cannot be healed unless each of these three elements is addressed.

For many troubled teens poor academic performance - failing in school - is caused by underlying emotional issues. For others, such as those children with learning disabilities, a lack of academic success prompts inappropriate behavior. This is why each new Three Springs resident received a complete academic evaluation upon admission, and an individual education plan (IEP) is created for each student. Three Springs program staff and faculty members focus on each child's individual issues and incorporates the treatment process into his or her education.

Certified Teachers

Each Three Springs residential adolescent behavioral treatment program includes a fully-licensed and accredited private school. All teachers are certified in his or her field such as mathematics, or science. Additionally, many instructors are specifically trained to educate children with learning disabilities and who face other academic challenges.

Teachers are an integral part of the therapeutic process and are aware of the issues our students bring to the classroom. In addition to teaching course content, teachers provide instruction in study skills and "classroom survival," understanding that many times deficits in these skills sets can lead to academic failure.

The teachers at Three Springs work to challenge each child individually while encouraging interaction in group projects and discussions. Our goal is not only to help students to remediate academic deficiencies, but also to encourage a positive, healthy attitude toward education, learning and life.

The Keys to Educational Excellence

College Preparation

Three Springs offers college testing and advising services. Your child will graduate with a diploma from a private academy allowing him or her to be competitive in the college admission process.

Special Education

Our highly qualified teachers have extensive training and experience in working with children who need some form of special education. We are also able to meet the needs of gifted children in our programs.

The Three Springs curriculum, which focuses on English, history, science, mathematics and the arts, provides our students with a strong, well-rounded education. Since our focus is on each individual child, as opposed to the group, each student receives specific attention so that he or she can achieve desired academic goals.
