Family Support
Family participation is at the heart of the Three Springs program. Adolescents who enter our programs become involved in activities that are intended to change both their attitudes and behaviors. The parents of these adolescents also need opportunities to explore new options and to prepare for the changes in their children.
The family involvement component affords the family a way of breaking the old cycle of frustration and discouragement and apply proven, effective parenting skills when the child returns home. The program strongly encourages families to become actively involved in family counseling on their own while their child is in the program. When the resident nears graduation from the program, a primary therapist will collaborate with the child’s home therapist and/or educational consultant to create an aftercare plan to best meet his needs.
The family may also attend monthly/quarterly family days and parent training sessions. There are also opportunities every thirty days for a child to earn a therapeutic pass with his family. These passes occur in progression, starting with a campus visit, then a town pass, and finally a home pass. The home passes increase in duration as your son progresses through the program.
