Who We Are
For over 30 years, Three Springs New Dominion Virginia has provided treatment for boys and girls with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Using a combination of traditional psychological and psychiatric treatment, our program helps troubled teens to identify destructive patterns of behavior and teaches them coping skills to improve their ability to manage strong emotions, peer pressure and conflicts within the family. We specialize in helping students ages 11 to 17. Our caring staff work with parents and other professionals to design a treatment plan that is specific to your child’s and family’s needs. Students will have the opportunity to make progress in school, develop stronger family relationships, social skills and self-care. Common diagnoses and problems treated at New Dominion Virginia are Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety Disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety), Substance Abuse (secondary diagnosis), and features of Borderline Personality Disorder. We also address and treat specific stressors that are manifested within a given diagnosis. Some of these include parental divorce, poor school performance, poor peer relationships, adoption, grief over a death, low self-esteem, blended family and any other issue that have led to complicating the teen’s life.
Three Springs New Dominion Virginia is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Social Services. Our school is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education and accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities (VAISEF) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. We are approved to accept international students.
