Academics

Three Springs of North Carolina School is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and is registered with the North Carolina Department of Education as a private school.

Good Education is Therapeutic and Good Therapy is Educational

Unlike traditional educational institutions, the school at North Carolina incorporates the treatment process into the education of your child. Teachers are an integral part of the therapeutic process and are aware of the issues that each of their students brings to the classroom. However, your child’s education does not stop when he leaves the classroom; every moment of the day affords a teaching opportunity. As your child participates in daily elective activities, our trained staff makes every moment both a teaching and therapeutic experience. This educational environment provides your child opportunities to learn and grow while working toward a high school diploma.

Individualized Teaching Methods

All of Three Springs of North Carolina teachers are experienced in a method we term Individualized Teaching. While children attend classes as a group with their peers, our teachers work individually with each student or with a small group of students. Unlike traditional teaching methods where an entire class moves at the same pace, the Individualized Teaching design provides for one-on-one assistance. This method allows your child to resume subjects from previous educational experiences and continue those studies with the assistance of professional teaching staff members.

Often a child comes to the program with a history of problems in school and a generally negative attitude toward education. By giving our students the attention they need to succeed, many of our children achieve success never before dreamed possible. In fact, most of our residents state that school is their favorite part of the day.

Our Dedicated Staff

The faculty and staff of Three Springs of North Carolina is made up of dedicated and committed individuals who possess an extensive collective history of providing education to children with behavioral issues. The educational staff includes a director/principal, an education coordinator, a math instructor, English instructor, social studies instructor and science instructor. All members of the teaching staff hold current certifications in their subject areas. In accordance with Title I, one full-time teacher and three part time tutors work with the students to improve math and reading skills.

Creating an Educational Plan for Your Child

Upon admission to the Three Springs of North Carolina School, each child receives a complete educational assessment. This enables staff and faculty members to determine where a child is academically situated and the best teaching tools to employ in each case. Educational staff members utilize previous school records, parental input and student need for remediation and enrichment to develop individualized programs of instruction for each child. Our school follows or exceeds all State of North Carolina curriculum guidelines and uses current textbooks to complete the designed programs of instruction. Classes are highly structured and organized with a small student-to-teacher ratio. Students are encouraged to assist their classmates in experiencing educational success.
