Family Support
Family participation is at the heart of the Three Springs of North Carolina program. Adolescents who join our program are involved in activities intended to change both their attitudes and behaviors. The parents of these teens also need an opportunity to explore new options and to prepare for the changes that will occur.
The family involvement component of our program provides parents with a way of breaking that old cycle of frustration and discouragement and replacing it with effective parenting skills. This is critical for a successful reunion whenyour teen returns home. Three Springs of North Carolina strongly encourages families to become actively involved in family counseling on their own while their child is “working the program.” When a student graduates from the program a Three Springs therapist collaborates with his home therapist and/or educational consultant to create an aftercare plan that best meets his needs.
Family members are also encouraged to attend monthly family days, parent training and family trips. Additionally, every thirty days brings an opportunity for each student to earn a pass to visit his family. These therapeutic passes are granted in progression, starting with a campus visit, then a town pass, and finally a home pass. Home passes increase in duration as your teen progresses through the program.
